Edward J. Fleming

Edward J. Fleming is graduate of Marquette University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics in 1988, and Suffolk University Law School, where he earned a Juris Doctor in 1991.

Mr. Fleming began his legal employment as an Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk County, where he worked for three years. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Fleming gained immeasurable courtroom experience handling hundreds of cases in one of the busiest courts in the Commonwealth. During his tenure in the District Attorney’s office, in 1993, Mr. Fleming was specifically assigned to handle many of the Court’s domestic violence cases. While working in this exploding field of prosecution, Mr. Fleming was privileged to travel the country as a spokesperson for the District Attorney’s office, speaking to large audiences on the prosecution of domestic violence in Billings, Montana, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts . (Quincy District Court’s domestic violence prosecution was featured on NBC’s 60 Minutes)

In 1994, after a three-year tenure in the District Attorney’s office, Mr. Fleming joined the law firm of Fleming & Langlois, P.C., where he worked under the tutelage of the Hon. Robert W. Langlois, a well-respected and prominent trial attorney, and later the First Justice of the Norfolk Probate & Family Court. Mr. Fleming has gained a wealth of experience in a variety of legal areas, specializing in zoning and licensing, real estate, probate and estate practice, and business law.

In the field of zoning and licensing, Mr. Fleming has represented individual homeowners, developers, and major companies in obtaining zoning relief, permits, and licenses for the completion of residential and commercial developments.  His practice also includes representation in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, probate law, and estate planning.  This practice has included representation in purchase and sale negotiations, title examinations, preparation of condominium documents, real estate closings, preparation of a Last Will & Testament and related estate documents.

Mr. Fleming's practice has also included representation of business owners and professional practitioners in all aspects of business law, including the creation and establishment of corporate entities and the acquisition and sale of businesses and professional practices.

Mr. Fleming is a past-Chairman and member of Board of Directors of the Quincy Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.  He is also a licensed real estate broker.
